Between 28–30 March 2026, the city of Varna – the sea capital of Bulgaria – hosted the start-up meeting of the WAVES 4 ACTIVE EUROPE project, co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme.
Project partners gathered to get familiar with the objectives, activities, and upcoming stages of implementation, as well as to lay the foundations for effective international cooperation. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, share experience, and build strong partnerships.
A special focus was placed on the educational component – lectures and interactive sessions that will take place during the final stage of the project in September.

Participants also had the opportunity to visit the venue where the international beach handball tournament will be held, scheduled for 13–18 September 2026 in Varna.
We are looking forward to the next stages of the project, where sport, sustainability, and youth engagement will come together to promote a more active, responsible, and united Europe.
